Artist “SOUMYAN THENNOOUR" was born in the year 1960 in a family of Lawyers in Melur, Madurai district. As a child he had an urge to draw and paint. He used to make figures out of modelling clay. He took computer as an effective tool for making a picture. He would rather call his works as CAP (computer aided paintings) . He did a lot of sketches before composing a theme or concept and after a while, made realtime 3D models and plan his work in a sequential way and started work in his personal computer. As a student of Indian history he studied the works of Ajanta, paintings of chola period, Pallava period and prefer to use those tonal values in his future works. He also completed Diploma courses in Computer Programming from NIIT, CMC Alagappa University and Thiyagarajar College of Engineering. He studied M.A (History) and B.L and joined the UNTIED INDIA INSURANCE CO. LTD. in the
year 1984. He has participated in a few group shows. Soumyan quit his job in 2012 and now he has entered fullyfledged into the field of art.
